Pipework & containment
Structured insulated refrigerant services routed and supported through congested internal and external plant areas.
PROJECT REPORT • CLOSE-CONTROL COOLING
A controlled replacement programme delivered around live manufacturing, restricted services routes and a critical Christmas shutdown.
THE PROJECT
UK Cooling and Heating Services supported a multi-phase close-control cooling programme at a live UK manufacturing facility. The featured phase covered seven STULZ units, each with two independent refrigeration circuits and approximately 100kW of cooling capacity.
Much of the insulated pipework and containment had to be installed around operational production areas before the shutdown. That preparation allowed the final connections, testing and commissioning activities to be completed within the restricted Christmas and New Year window.
The site has since become a repeat environment for UKCH, with approximately 15 systems supported across several live-production and shutdown phases.
UKCH SCOPE
The installation was sequenced around manufacturing operations, access limitations and the final shutdown programme.
Structured insulated refrigerant services routed and supported through congested internal and external plant areas.
Installation and connection of the associated STULZ condenser equipment and refrigeration services.
Controlled testing of all 14 circuits before evacuation, charging and commissioning activity.
Deep evacuation followed by R513A refrigerant charging in accordance with the system requirements.
Advance installation work completed while production remained live, ready for final works during the Christmas shutdown.
Technical assistance through system start-up, operating checks and successful project handover.
INSTALLATION DETAILS
The photographs show the scale of the equipment, the restricted service routes and the standard of the finished refrigeration installation.

THE RESULT
The advance works reduced the amount of installation activity required during the shutdown itself. All featured circuits progressed through pressure testing, evacuation, R513A charging and commissioning support, enabling the replacement cooling systems to be brought into operation successfully.
